Description

General job duties and types of procedures required:
Primarily circulating for cases in all surgical services including Level 1 trauma procedures, laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures, total joints and ortho trauma, specialty neuro procedures including craniotomies

Type of equipment is utilized in the unit/dept:
Lasers, Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Equipment, Robotics, Electronic Nursing Documentation,

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required:
Georgia Nursing License, BLS

Possibility of floating to other departments:
No- will remain in the OR but may work various shifts to meet staffing needs

Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept:
Cover 21 OR's

Nurse to patient ratio:
1 nurse to patient in OR

Unit/department specific training and orientation program:
Agency staff get ~1 to 2 weeks orientation within our dept

Client Job Summary:
This professional registered staff nurse position is responsible for promoting the restoration of health and achievement of patient goals through providing individualized direct patient care in accordance with medical center and practice site policies and procedures, established standards of nursing care and practice, as defined by the state of Georgia. The staff nurse provides care through the use of the nursing process and in a manner that is cost effective without compromising quality of care. The staff nurse performs assessments, planning, and implementation of nursing intervention and evaluation. The staff nurse also participates in department, unit, or practice site process improvement activities, meets continuing education requirements, and upholds the philosophy and objectives of the medical center and/or ambulatory care site in providing patient and family centered care. The staff nurse demonstrates professional growth and development through involvement in professional organizations, review of professional literature, and participates in continuing education programs. The staff nurse must also demonstrate and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to age-specific needs.

Job Requirements:
Basic Requirements: Current Georgia Registered Nursing license; BLS (AHA) certification; greater than 3 years experience in an acute care facility

Other Requirements: Computer skills needed for documentation; Outstanding organizational and communication skills – must speak, read and write English

Nicole was very helping and always proficient with reaching out and even going above and beyond when the facility itself was slacking. When the facility canceled all contracts the day before start date she found me another position within the same week. I would recommend her 10x over.
