null START DATE: 11/25 Department: Nuclear Medicine- NUC MED Tech & PET 76500 General Certification Requirements (BLS, etc.) BLS, AZDHS Certs/ARRT (MR) or NMTCB (Nuclear Med Tech Cert Board) & any other specialty certification requirements? AZDHS license and either ARRT(N) or CNMT. From the Radiology Manager: I verified with our physicist that all Nuc Med Techs need to be certified through AZDHS to work in Arizona. They can use either a CNMT license or ARRT (N) license to get the AZ certification. In other words we must require an AZDHS license and one of the other licenses (CNMT or ARRT). How many scanners/rooms does this department have? "1 PET scanner 3 Nuc Med Cameras" Will they have to float/cover any other areas? PET 70% of the time and Nuc Med 30% Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties "PET CT brain, PET CT whole body, no cardiac Nuc Med: bone scan, whole body scan, brain scans, cardiac pool, cardiac MPI spect, CSF Cisternogram, gastric emptying, HIDA scans, GI blood loss, lung perfusion, parathyroid, renal scans, sentinel node, thryoid, whole body, thyroid uptake, PSA scans soon " PET CT brain, PET CT whole body Experience or 'Must have' skills "MUST have IV experience. Open to first time travelers with 1 year of experience. PET and NM experience preferred Direct Hires: No New grads, 1-2 years of previous expereince in PET needed." Average # of scans/studies per day PET 8-10 (1 tech), and Nuc Med 12-15 (split between 2 techs) EMR &/or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System: software & hardware) do they use Epic, PACS- eUnity (General viewer), MIMS (PET viewer) Department Specific Equipment (GE, Phillips, Siemens) "PET- Mobile unit Phillips Gemini, new machine in Sept Nuc Med- Siemens " Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech Lead Tech who functions as an alternate radiation safety officer, will work closely with any new hires Do they use RRA's (Registered Radiology Assistants)? No Radiologist in-house? Multiple in house 24/7 Do they have to start IV's? (if applicable to the department) Yes Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) "Centralized scheduling office to use a template. M-F 7-3 and 8-4" Weekend Requirements On call rotation Holiday Requirements On call rotation Call or Standby requirement? "Every third weekend, Sat- Sunday, call in are rare, maybe once a weekend" Scrub Color/Dress Code: Are scrubs provided? Nicole was very helping and always proficient with reaching out and even going above and beyond when the facility itself was slacking. When the facility canceled all contracts the day before start date she found me another position within the same week. I would recommend her 10x over.
