    Indio, CA

    About

A desert oasis in Southern California's Coachella Valley, Indio is famous for its date farms, music and arts festivals and hot springs. Many people know Indio as the home of the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. But it also hosts a wide array of popular festivals and events throughout the year, including Stagecoach, Desert Trip and Indio International Tamale Festival. Visitors and locals enjoy many outdoor activities, like golfing, hiking, biking, horseback riding and camping. Indio boasts a much lower cost of living than nearby cities like Los Angeles and San Diego, making it a less expensive alternative while living in California. Although summers are exceptionally hot in the area, winters are mild and sunny, making it a perfect place to escape the cold weather up north.
