Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - ICU

Shift: Nights / 6:45p-7:15a, 12x3, 36 hours per week, EOW

Length13 weeks

13 weeks up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays

Requirements:

  • NC or Compact license
  • Minimum 2 years' experience
  • Must have 2 years in Neuro ICU
  • Strong Neuro experience, must be 2 years, no less
  • Strong Neuro Critical Care Background, not just general ICU
  • Skills: Vents, IV Start, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Continuous IV sedation, CVA/Acute Stroke management, External ventricular drains (EVD), ICP Monitoring, Post Neurosurgery management, Care of Ventilated Patient, Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE, Lumbar Drain experience
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIH
  • Skills: Arterial line management preferred
Others:
  • Float
  • Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
  • Must pass EKG Testing
  • RATIOS: Ratios 2:1 (can flex up to 3:1 in high census and nurse must be comfortable with this if needed). Average Daily Census 11-12
  • Unit will accept 1st time travelers
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (Facility Guideline):Not Required

Drains used: EVDs, LDs, hemovacs, Camino (ICP monitoring)SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Comprehensive Stroke CenterSPECIAL EQUIPMENT: EVD, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM and Arctic Sun.UNIT SYSTEMS: Pyxis, EPIC, SBARSCHEDULING TYPE: Per the Unit NeedsUNIT ORIENTATION: 24.0 Hours; 2 days or 2 nightsSCRUBS: Navy blue & White.INTERNAL NOTES Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for, this specialtyMUST have 2 YEARS in NEURO ICU, IF NOT PLEASE REDIRECTSTRONG Neuro Critical Care Background, not just general ICU.
