Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - Med/Surg - 16 East and West
Shift: Variable D/N or Nights, 12x3, 36hrs per week
Length: 13 weeks
Weekends - variable based on unit needs
Requirements:

• OH License
• 2 years experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• ONS cert preferred
• Hematology oncology experience preferred

Other Details:

• Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units
• Staffing ratios - goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5

Hematology Oncology - D/N OR NIGHTS - AYA OFFER (MED SURG UNIT)
HEMATOLOGY ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED. MEDSURG EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Staffing ratios - goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5• Weekends - variable based on unit needs• No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff• Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule• First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor• Oncology experience preferred but not required• Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units
Patient Diagnoses• Lymphoma• Multiple Myeloma• Acute leukemias• Chronic Leukemias• Sickle Cell Disease• other non hem cancers• Other benign hematology
Special Procedures/Unit Details• Chemotherapy• Blood transfusions• IV Antibiotics• Oncologic emergencies: tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome• Insulin drips• Heparin drips• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
Certifications Required• BLS• ACLS
Skills Required• MS/Tele• Telemetry• Interpretation of dysrhythmias• Telemetry -on the unit monitoring• Use of Rapid Response Teams• Feeding tube care and managementIV therapy/Phlebotomy• Blood Product Administration• Central line blood draw• Peripheral Line Care/Management• PICC line management• Starting IVs
