Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

Shift: Nights, 6:45p-7:15a, 12x3, 36hrs per week

Length: 13 weeks

Every Other Weekend minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.

Requirements:

  • NC License
  • 2 years to be comfortable working on this unit, as it can be challenging for less experience.
  • Skills: Circulate, Sterile vaginal exam and competent in immediate newborn care
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • Prefers 3 years experience
  • Strongly prefer RN with circulate to OR experience

Other Details:

  • Unit Systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.
  • Float required as needed, Special Maternity Care high risk OB unit.
  • Unit will accept 1st Time Travelers. (But should have experience in large/ high volume similar setting).
  • Locals Accepted
  • RATIOS: 2:1, average 20 births in 24hrs and 30-40 admits, 40 Visits/Day, 20 Rooms
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Not Required
  • Flu Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only

JOB DETAILS:RATIOS: 2:1, average 20 births in 24hrs and 30-40 admits, 40 Visits/Day, 20 RoomsSHIFT: *36 hours can be offered.Unit will accept contracts from 13+ weeks up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays!12 HR NIGHTS; 18:45 - 07:15May be required to precept/orient new staff members to the unit as neededFloat Requirement: *FLOAT REQUIRED AS NEEDED. Special Maternity Care high risk OB unit.Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for all intrapartum and for high-risk antepartum and postpartum care. We care for under 16 weeks high risk patients too on our high risk maternity unit. The Birthing Care Unit has an obstetrical triage unit to allow for screening of patients prior to admission and to perform routine outpatient procedures such as antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration. Scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean Births and rescue cervical cerclage are performed.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: **Unit VERY FAST PACED, busier and higher acuity than might be normally expected. May not be realistic for nurses to take 48hr contracts on this unit due to how busy it is. Strongly prefer RN with circulate to OR experience.
UNIT SYSTEMS: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.
UNIT ORIENTATION: 24.0 Hours
SCRUBS: Scrubs provided (blue).
Unit: 111-1000-15004- Delivery Room
