Shift: Days, 5:30a-6p, 12x3, 36hrs per week
Length: 13 Weeks
Weekend REQ: varied – discussed during interviewOn-Call REQ: 4-6 call shifts per 6-week schedule. Will be further discussed during interview
Requirements:
  • AZ License
  • 1 year PICU OR ICU and 1 year of phase 1 experience in a mixed peds/adult PACU at a level 1 trauma hospital
  • Could also be RN with a mix of PEDs and Adult PACU experience
  • BLS
  • ACLS 
  • PALS
  • Trauma level 1, Pediatrics & Adult care, Central line care/management, IV vasopressors, Care of Ventilated patients, Chest tube management, Malignant Hyperthermia Protocols required skills
  • Electronic Documentation required
  • Trauma Level I Experience required
  • TNCC preferred
  • Teaching Hospital Experience preferred

Position: PACU RN – 60% Adults 40% PedsRatios: 1:2 Days/Nights/WeekendsPt Age Group: Neonates-Geriatrics
Min Years of Exp: 1 year PICU OR ICU and 1 year of phase 1 experience in a mixed peds/adult PACU at a level 1 trauma hospital. Could also be RN with a mix of PEDs and Adult PACU experience but they must have both in work history.Required Certs: ACLS, BLS, PALSRequired Skills: Trauma level 1, Pediatrics & Adult care, Central line care/management, IV vasopressors, Care of Ventilated patients, Chest tube management, Malignant Hyperthermia ProtocolsAny Other Special Requirements/Details: ***See below hypothetical cases to determine if your RN is eligible***Does your RN feel comfortable w/ the below cases?- Working at night on call, 1RN has peds (4 yo) ICU patient waiting for a bed (could be on vent) while other RN is receiving an adult ICU patient from OR that will be waiting for a bed. Are you comfortable taking care of the pediatricpatient in this scenario?- RN taking care of a 3 month old patient from OR phase 1 from pyloric stenosis procedure- outpatient scenario.- 5 year old patient with tonsil rebleed- phase 1 recovery- Pediatric (9yo) scald burn injury 30%+ TBSA- grafting- phase 1 recovery from OR- Pediatric (8 yo) broken arm with nerve repair, ending phase 1, parent at bedside; now same RN getting T&A 4 yo.*Valleywise is the only burn center in Phoenix – they see very acutely ill pediatric and adult cases and they are looking for skilled pediatric and adult critical care nurse
