Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - Oncology - 6S Medicine

Shift: Nights, 6:45p-7:15a, 12x3, 36hrs per week, EOW

Length: 13 weeks

Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift.

Requirements:

  • NC License 
  • 1 Year Experience
  • Skills: Administer chemo. Experience in an inpatient setting is required
  • BLS
  • Chemo cert.
  • Chemotherapy administration certification is required prior to start
  • CPI preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred

Other Details:

  • Will accept travelers that do not currently have the ONC cert
  • Will work with oncology as well as medical surgical patients
  • Unit Systems (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
  • Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
  • Will accept 1st time travelers
  • Locals Accepted
  • Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
  • Target Ratios: 1:6-7
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Not Required
  • Flu Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only

JOB DETAILS: will work with oncology as well as medical surgical patientsTarget Ratios: 1:6-7Shift:NIGHTS; Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays!RTO: 7 days MAX; DAYS; 36 or 48 hours.Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift.Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.Weekend Requirement: *EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED.
** Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
PATIENT DIAGNOSES: High Acuity Adults and Geriatrics.**Contract staff may be required to care for patients with COVID.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Daily Census 42.General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population. Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection. DKA - Insulin drip, AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips.

UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.

UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hrs (2 shifts)

SCRUBS: Navy Blue and white.
