Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - PCU - 8th West Tower Pulmonary 48's

Shift: Nights, 6:45p-7:15a, 12x4, 48hrs per week, Will also accept 36's

Length: 13 weeks

4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks but staffing needs may require more.

Requirements:

  • NC License 
  • 1 Year Experience
  • Skills: IV start, Vents, Telemetry and cpap/bipap, Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • BCLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS preferred
Other Details:
  • Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
  • Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
  • Unit will accept 1st time traveler
  • Locals accepted
  • Required to float to like units
  • Target Ratios: 1:5-6 (Mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients with ratios of 1:6)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Not Required
  • Flu Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only
REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year required.Traveler Experience: Unit WILL ACCEPTS 1st time traveler.Locals Accepted: YesSkills: IV start, Vents, Telemetry and cpap/bipap, Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias.Certs: ACLS, BLSPREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: NIHSSJOB DETAILS:Target Ratios: 1:5-6 (Mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients with ratios of 1:6)*36-48 hrs can be offered. Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays!12 HOUR NIGHTS; 18:45 - 07:15Float Requirement: required to float to like units.Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks but staffing needs may require more.Patient Population: COPD, PNA, Resp distress, Covid-19, FLU, PE’s.***Patient population currently includes care for COVID-19 patients, including those who have tested positive.***SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Our acuity is on the higher end of a med-surg unit, but we do operate with a team lead present in a 3:1 that rounds the whole unit, 2 respiratory therapists that are rounding, and an assistant nurse manager on shift including weekends. We do take ventilators on our unit but they are for chronic trach/vent patients. Our model is that no nurse has more than one vent patient at a time. Our unit is 48 beds in total. Our CNA’s are a 9-10:1. Most of our patient population is going to be COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, and patients with chest tubes, CPAP, BiPAP.
