Job Description

Minimum Experience: 2 years; first-time travelers not accepted
Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Work Environment

General Skills and Work Setting Requirements:
- General Emergency Department (Non-Trauma)
- Very large and busy with high acuity
- Stroke and STEMI Certified
Ratio / Census: 1:4 Ratio; 59 Bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day
Unit Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis
Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Scheduling

RTO (Requested Time Off): Maximum 7 days
Weekends: Every other weekend
Floating: Rare
Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period.

Compliance

Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant, there may be a delay of 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Contract Length

14 weeks

Background Check: Required within 30 days of start.
References: 2 clinical references needed.
Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually.
Education Verification: Required for related degree noted on application.
Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required.

Health Documents

Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start.
TB Questionnaire: Required annually.
Vaccinations:
- Flu vaccine or declination required.
- COVID vaccine or declination required.
- Hepatitis B, Varicella, MMR, and other vaccinations as specified.

Competencies

Various competency exams required based on specialty and role.
