Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Hospital System: MedStar Health - OLD
Facility: MedStar Georgetown University Hospital
Location: Washington, District Of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Position: 7 West Boarder RN – MS Tele RN
Shift: 4 x 12 Nights (1900-0700)
On Call/Weekend Requirements: No on-call requirement; weekends included in rotation
Float Requirement: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity

Requirements

Licensure: Must have DC RN License in hand
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in telemetry and IV start required

Unit Information

Unit Ratio: 1:4
Unit Type: Procedural recovery unit providing boarding for 8 patients each night, primarily med-surg patients, with potential IMC levels of care.

Additional Information

Flu Vaccine: Required for all employees
Health Documents:
- Annual physical exam
- N95 Fit Test (within 9 months of start)
- TB testing (IGRA or PPD Skin Test)
- Vaccination records (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap)
Background Check: Required within 90 days of start
References: Two positive supervisory references required

Competencies

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required within 3 years of start
Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Telemetry, MS/Tele, ICU, and ED units (RN Only)
