Job Description

• Orientation: Bi-weekly orientation available.
• Testing Requirement: Must pass EKG testing before the start date (mandatory for all Medsurg nurses).
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month.
• Shift Ratios:

  • Primary Days: 1:5
  • Primary Nights: 1:7-8
  • May use team nursing model with greater ratios; floating required.
• Time Off Policy: Travelers requesting time off during holidays will not be accommodated.

Required Certifications

• BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• NIHSS - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (if applicable)
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (if applicable)
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (if applicable)
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (preferred for ER)
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute (preferred for ER and Psych)

Health Document Requirements

• Physical Exam: Must be completed within 45 days of start.
• TB Test: Proof of a negative TB test within a year of start.
• Vaccination Records:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Flu Vaccine (required for specific start dates)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (two doses required)

Background Check and References

• Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start.
• References: Two supervisory references required, completed within the last 3 years.

Application Requirements

• Work History: 7-year work history required with no gaps over 30 days without explanation.
• Skills Checklist: Unit-specific skills checklist required within the last year.

Additional Information

• Photo for Badge: A solid background, full head/shoulders, passport style photo must be uploaded prior to start.
• Onboarding Documents: Candidates must review and complete onboarding documents and attestations.
