Job Description

The unit accepts first-time travelers.
Shifts: 3x12 rotating shifts in the Acute Care Surgery unit.
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Patient Procedures

Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
Flaps
Microsurgery
HIPEC patients
Whipple
Bariatric surgery patients
Leech therapy

Surgical Specialties

Bariatric Surgery
Colo-Rectal Surgery
Plastic Surgery
Urology Surgery
Surgical Oncology

Experience Requirements

Epic experience for Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is required.
Experience with Progressive Care.
Experience with post-operative surgical procedures and care.

Contract Length

13 weeks

Certifications Required

Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP)
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
NIH Stroke Certification
State License Verification (Permanent RN license required; temporary licenses not accepted)
NURSYS Verification (for RNs)

Health Requirements

Physical Exam: Initial physical, updated annually.
Vaccinations:
- Tdap vaccine required (declination accepted).
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray required.
- Flu vaccine or exemption required.
Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen required.

Background Check

Criminal background check required within 60 days of start.

Additional Information

Candidates must complete a skills checklist and provide proof of education.
References required.
Performance evaluations will be completed at the end of the assignment.
