Job Description

Minimum Experience: 2 years; first-time travelers accepted
Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)

Skills and Work Setting Requirements

Experience with oncology diagnoses from diagnosis to death, hematology diagnoses, DNR/CC, oncologic emergencies.
Familiarity with chemotherapy precautions, morphine drips, dilaudid drips, cadd pumps, and PCA pumps.

Work Environment

Patient Ratio: 1:6; 19 beds with an average daily census of 15
Unit Systems: Epic (Required), Pyxis, SBAR
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Floating: Yes, within the facility and possibly at Piedmont Augusta Summerville (3 miles from main campus)
Weekends: Every other weekend
Call Requirements: None

Holiday Requirements

Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period. Specific holidays include:
- New Year’s Eve and Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving/Black Friday
- Christmas Eve and Day

Compliance and Documentation

Full compliance required to start on time; delays may push back start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.

- Drug Testing
- Health Documents (e.g., TB test, vaccinations)

Additional Information

RTO (Request Time Off): Maximum of 7 days
Competencies: Various competency exams required based on specialty
Flu and COVID Vaccination: Required or declination documentation needed
