Position Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Patient Ratios: 1:5 during the day, 1:10 at night
• Common Diagnoses:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Stroke
  • Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
  • Joint Replacement
• Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Experience/Skills Required: Teamwork

Staffing and Support

• Nurse Aides: Yes, available on the unit
• Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy/Speech-Language Pathology: Available
• Respiratory Therapy Equipment: NC, CPAP, BiPAP (no vents)

Scheduling

• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 3 days a week
• Weekend Requirements: Yes, every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Yes, based on FTE hired into
• Call or Standby Requirement: No on-call duty
• Floating Requirements: Rare, as the unit has only 10 beds with 3 RN staff

Additional Information

• Orientation: Unit-specific orientation will depend on experience
• Dress Code: WVU Medicine Ruby standard royal blue
• Team Conferences: RNs are required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab

Submission Requirements

• Candidates can only be submitted to one position at a time across the entire WVU system.
• Driver's license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility.
• Previous permanent candidates must be gone for 2 years.
• Previous travelers who worked there for 1 full year must also be gone for 2 years.
• Individual unit requirements apply.
• Travel teams must be submitted together in one email.
• Only 2 candidates can be submitted per opening; submissions will be held if the position is at maximum capacity.
