Job Description

The Inpatient Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse who, as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, provides nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process. Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety by maintaining a safe environment and utilizing the milieu to meet patients' needs. The Inpatient Staff Nurse practices under the supervision of the Medical Director.

Shift Details

• Hours: 24 hours per week
• Shift: Night shift with every other weekend rotation

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Required:

  • BLS certification
  • Psychiatric and geriatric nursing experience preferred
  • Excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills

Certifications and Training

• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • De-Escalation training within 60 days of hire
  • MGB CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training within 30 days of start

Health and Safety Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Required
• MMR Vaccine: Documentation of two measles vaccines, two mumps vaccines, and one rubella vaccine or proof of immunity
• Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred documentation of vaccination or proof of immunity
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30)
• TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON TB Test within 3 months of start date
• Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date
• Fit Test: N95 fit test required within 365 days of start date

Background Checks

• Criminal Background Check: Required
• Education Verification: Verification of highest level of education achieved
• National Sex Offender Check: Required
• Exclusion Checks: OIG, GSA, and MassHealth & NH Medicaid exclusion lists
