Unit: 5W Medicine
Number of Beds: 36
Number of Staff: 50+
Current Ratios:
- Day Shift: RN 1:5/6
- Night Shift: RN 1:6/7
Staffing Grid:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC, 1-2 Sitters
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 0.5 HUC, 1-2 Sitters
Equipment: Medical remote telemetry monitoring, Cerner Patient Observation (CPO), VC150’s in every patient room, Work station on wheels for every staff member, Tap and Go for computer/documentation access.
EMR System: Cerner

Additional Information

Floating Areas: Med-Surge: 3W, 5W, K8 (sister units)
Dress Code: Navy blue top and bottom, white top and navy blue bottom, or all white.
Weekend Requirement: Must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as weekend shifts on night shift).
