Description

Position: FLOAT RN
Shift: 12-hour nights (7 PM - 7 AM); weekend, holiday, and call required
Contract Length: 13 weeks (possibly longer)
Location: Must adhere to a 60-mile radius rule

Requirements

Licensure: Current NY RN license required
Experience:
- Must have coronary care experience
- At least one successful traveler assignment completed; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Previous hospital RN experience preferred
Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required or to be obtained within 3 months of hire

Skills

Thorough knowledge of nursing principles
Ability to provide quality patient care and assess patient needs (clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual)
Recognize safety issues and implement safe patient handling
Function well in stressful situations with strong problem-solving skills
Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate
May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both written and verbal)

Additional Information

Comfortable floating to various departments: Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, Pediatric
