Job Description
- Operate CT equipment (e.g., CT scanner, Power Injector) to acquire diagnostic images for physicians.
- Float among radiology clinics and divisions as needed.
- Ensure patient preparation, positioning, and safety during imaging procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients, maintaining ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
- Deliver patient care within the scope of license/training.
- Maintain effective communication with departmental and hospital personnel.
- Calibrate and verify equipment operation; report malfunctions.
- Execute paperwork and Radiology Information System functions for patient exams.
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under a radiologist's direction.
- Attend staff meetings and maintain continuing education units (CEUs) as required.
- May oversee and instruct students and personnel in the department.
- Participate in research programs and quality improvement projects.
- Assume on-call coverage and remain flexible with shift coverage and overtime.
- Transport and transfer patients according to departmental guidelines.
- Use independent judgment in various situations during patient exams.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license.
- Registered or eligible for certification in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred, with at least one year in cross-sectional anatomy courses.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients under stress.
- Analytical abilities to understand imaging processes and techniques.
Required Credentials
- BLS Certification: AHA, Red Cross, or equivalent.
- ARRT Certification: Required.
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Completed primary series or up-to-date vaccination.
- MMR Vaccination: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine or proof of immunity.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season.
- TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON TB Test.
- Health Statement: Signed by a medical professional within the last year.
- Fit Test: N95 fit test completed within the last year.
- Background Checks: Criminal background check and verification of education and work history.
Additional Information
- Must submit a recent professional photo.
- Documentation of work experience and education is required for submission.
- Two recent references, including at least one supervisor, are required.
- Participation in various compliance checks and health screenings is mandatory.
