Position Details

Specialty: RN (Registered Nurse)
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Facility: Henrico Doctors Hospital-Parham VA (part of HCA Healthcare)
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit Type: Behavioral Health
Number of Beds: 24 (12 acute and 12 non-acute)
Staffing:
- Total Staff: 23 RNs & 17 MHTs
- Day Shift: 3-4 RNs, 2-3 MHTs, 1 unit clerk, 2 SW, 1 ET, 1 SW Manager, 1 Nurse Manager
- Night Shift: 3 RNs, 2-3 MHTs
Patient Ratios: Usually 1:7 at the most
Equipment Used: EKG machine, glucose monitoring devices, computers with MediTech EMR, iPhones (iMobile)

Hiring Profile

Required Qualifications:

Adult Behavioral Health experience
Ability to administer oral and IM medications
Experience with admissions, discharges, and 1:1 assessments
Therapeutic communication skills
CPI and CPR certification
Availability to work 3-12 hour shifts (7a-7p) per week and every other weekend

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with MediTech
Trauma-informed care knowledge
Charge Nurse experience

Typical Procedures:

EKGs
Finger stick blood sugars with glucometers
Bladder scanning

Ability to remain calm during emergencies
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work well with diverse personality types
