Job Opportunity: Surgical Technologist (CST/ORT)

Location

State: New Mexico
City: Carlsbad
Facility: Carlsbad Medical Center

Employment Details

Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift (Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
On Call: Rotating schedule (Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM - 7:00 AM) and 24-hour call on Saturday & Sunday

Job Description

Surgical technologists are responsible for preparing the operating room, including the sterile field, and setting up surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions. During surgery, they pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon while managing the sterile field and specimens. They also perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects.

Requirements

Certification: Must be certified following successful completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program or other programmatically-accredited surgical technology program and the national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) examination.
BLS Certification: Required
