Job Opportunity: RN - Women's Services (L&D and Post-Partum)
Location
- City: Nampa, Idaho
- Facility: St. Luke's Nampa Medical Center
Job Details
- Specialty: Women's Services (L&D and Post-Partum)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM)
Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Post-Partum (PP)
- Experience in OR Circulation and Triage preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome with at least 1 year of experience in mother-baby care
Certifications Required:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP
- STABLE
Unit Information
- Department: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
- Number of LDRP Beds: 14
- Number of OR Suites for C-Sections: 2
- Number of Triage Beds: 4
- Births per Month: Approximately 90
- Births per Year: Approximately 1200
Staffing and Patient Care
Patient Ratios:
- 1:1 during labor (unless pairing cervical ripening patients)
- 1:3 for postpartum couplets care
- 1:3 for triage (may utilize resource nurse if patient load increases)
Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients:
- Patients typically 32 weeks gestation and greater
- Conditions include hypertension, gestational diabetes, and antepartum patients
- Diverse patient population with many seeking medical intervention
Nurse Responsibilities:
- Attend deliveries and provide newborn care
- Circulate C-sections and provide postpartum couplet care
- Titrate drips (e.g., Pitocin, Magnesium, Insulin)
Additional Information
- Orientation: 4 shifts of unit-specific orientation
- Floating Requirements: May float to other St. Luke's Treasure Valley sites (Meridian, Nampa, Boise)
- Dress Code: Hospital-issued scrubs required
- Weekend and Holiday Requirements: Based on unit needs; no minimum requirement for travelers
- No Call Requirement
Notes
- The facility has a radius rule of 50 miles; candidates must be outside this radius.
- Travelers are encouraged to have two cars if traveling as a duo, as they may float between different sites.
- A no fingernail lacquer policy is in place due to the unique model of care.
