Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Position Details

• Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Children's Hospital
• Facility: Renown Regional Medical Center, Reno, NV
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour shifts, varied times discussed during interview
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Call Requirements: Call is not required

Licenses and Certifications

• Required Licenses: RRT, Nevada State License (can submit without NV State license but must obtain prior to start)
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (STABLE preferred)

Experience Requirements

• Experience: Must have 2+ years of NICU Respiratory Therapist experience.

Additional Information

• Travelers may be required to float to the needs of the organization up to their competency level.
• Will be required to pick up one additional shift during the scheduled period.
• Renown has the right to call off, without penalty, 48 hours prior for low census per 13-week contract (this may be full or partial shifts).
• Schedule varies based on department needs and may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts.

• Purpose: The position involves performing respiratory therapy procedures to improve the cardiopulmonary conditions of patients from newborn to geriatric ages.
• Nature and Scope:

  • Integrate respiratory care with other care providers to achieve desired results.
  • Responsible for proper documentation of all patient records and department logs.
  • Accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients and families.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to meet the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs of the patient population served.
