Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse

Location

  • State: Maryland
  • City: Baltimore
  • Facility: Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital
  • Hospital System: LifeBridge Health

Employment Details

  • Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: Choose between 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend required.

Unit Description

  • High Intensity Care Unit (HICU):
    • 20 semi-private rooms accommodating up to 40 patients.
    • Focus on patients requiring acute brain injury care, respiratory assistance, special monitoring, or rehabilitation.
    • Patients monitored for cardiac and complex medical conditions.
    • Accepts patients aged 18 and older.
    • Provides 24/7 respiratory care, diagnostics, medical treatment, and rehabilitation services.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years.
  • Certifications Required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • Additional certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM).

Additional Information

  • Compliance Requirements:
    • I9 and E-Verify documentation.
    • Government-issued photo ID.
    • Background check covering the last 7 years.
    • Health documents including:
      • Physical exam
      • TB screening
      • Vaccinations (e.g., Tdap, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella)
      • Drug screening
      • Flu vaccination during flu season.
  • Competency Exams:
    • Unit-specific competency exams may be required.
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam.

Skills and Competencies

  • Unit-specific skills checklist required.
  • Acknowledgment of pass/fail testing for RNs and LPNs.
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam.

Facility-Specific Documents

  • Completion of Healthstream modules during orientation.
  • Photo for badge.
  • Parking registration form.
  • Consent to release information.
