Job Description

• Unit: Critical Care Float Pool
• Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Block scheduling is not guaranteed)
• Floating Required: Yes (this is a float position)
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Responsibilities

• Float to any unit within the hospital except for Psych and ED (unless managing holds).
• May float to Medical-Surgical (MS) and take assignments that could include 6-7 patients.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in ICU.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH required.
• Licensure: Active NY RN license required at the time of submission.
• Verification: NURSYS report for license verification with all active RN licenses.
• RTO: Must be included at the time of submission.

Patient Care

• Common Patient Diagnoses:

  • Neurological/Medical: Strokes, Sepsis, Altered Mental Status (AMS)
  • Neuro Interventions: TCAR, Respiratory Failure, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Post-Stemi CTICU: Cardiogenic Shock, AAA Surgery/Trauma, Major post-operative surgery

Equipment

• Specialty Equipment: IABP, CRRT, Ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, TTM

Unit Capacity

• Number of Beds in the Unit: 42 beds
