Job Overview: Registered Nurse

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Facility: Ohio State University Hospital (Outside In)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Preferred Experience: PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience
Patient Age Group: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Minimum Experience Required: 2 years
Staffing Ratios: 1:4

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Telemetry & Dysrhythmia Management
PCU/Stepdown Care
IV Insulin & Heparin Protocols
Renal Failure Management
Cardiac & Vasoactive Drips (including titration)
Blood Product Administration
Tracheostomy Management
Rapid Response Team Utilization

Non-Invasive Airway Management (CPAP/BIPAP, Oxygen)

Additional Information

Background Check: 7-Year Criminal Background Check required within 1 year of start.
Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen required within 3 months of start.
Health Documents:
- Physical Exam
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray
- MMR Vaccines or Positive Titer
- Hepatitis B Titer or 3-Vaccine Series
- Varicella Vaccines or Positive Titer
- Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season
References: 2 professional references required, including at least 1 from a manager/director.

Compliance Requirements

Fingerprinting: Required for all candidates.
Pending Background Check Attestation: Required for candidates starting with pending fingerprint results.
Competency Exams: Unit-Specific Competency Exam and Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required.
