Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ICU Float Pool)

Location

City: Washington, DC
Facility: Medstar Washington Hospital Center
Hospital System: MedStar Health - OLD

Employment Details

Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 or 4 x 12-hour shifts (Day/Night)
- Shifts range from 0700-1930, 1100-2330, 1900-0730, 2300-1130
On-Call/Weekend Requirement: No on-call requirement; every other weekend

Job Description

Position involves floating between various ICU units including:
- MICU
- SICU
- Neuro ICU
- CVICU
- CVSICU
- IMC Units
- ED/PACU to care for ICU/IMC boarders

Requirements

Licensure: DC RN Licensure
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in:
- ICU
- Surgical ICU
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- IV insulin protocols
- GI surgery
- IV therapy
- IV sedation
- Chemo administration
Vaccination: Flu vaccination required

Additional Information

Health Documents:
- Annual physical exam
- N95 Fit Test (within 9 months of start)
- TB screening (IGRA or PPD)
- Vaccination records (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap)
Background Check: Required within 90 days of start
References: Two positive supervisory references required
