Job Description

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Experience Required:

  • 2 years of pediatric experience required
  • First-timers not accepted unless they have 3+ years of recent experience
• Weekend Requirements: As needed
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (100 miles radius rule)
• Pending Licenses: Not accepted; all travelers must comply with NLC guidelines
• RTO Restrictions: All requests for time off must be included at the time of submission

Special Requirements

• Pediatrics Experience: Required
• Education: BSN preferred

Certifications Required

• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA or ARC only)
• BLS: Basic Life Support (AHA or ARC only)
• PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA or ARC only)
• NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (AAP only for specific units)
• TNCC: Trauma Nursing Core Course (preferred for ER)
• EFM: Electronic Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate AWHONN required for L&D within 2 years)
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for RNs at Methodist Healthcare (not required for Le Bonheur Children's Hospital)

Health Documents Required

• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start
• Fit Mask Test: 3M N-95 Masks only, must pass prior to start
• Vaccinations:

  • Tdap (required for Le Bonheur Children's Hospital)
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
  • Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (proof of vaccinations or positive titers required)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Test within 30 days of start
  • Flu Vaccine: Required prior to start (October 1 – March 31)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Preferred, not required

Background and History Checks

• Background Check: Within 60 days of start
• References: Two recent professional references required
• Education Verification: Required, diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Specific scrubs required based on role
• Photo Badge: Must be submitted by a specified deadline with strict guidelines
