Position Details

Job Description

The RN will perform duties in various areas including:

• Medical/Surgical Units
• Emergency Department
• Critical Care
• Telemetry
• Psychiatric Unit
• Joint Replacement Center
• Childbirth Center

The nurse must be willing to work in all departments as needed and directed, taking full assignments on med/surg or telemetry units. In the ED, psychiatric, CCU, and CBC, they will serve as helping hands. Inpatient staff is rarely floated to these areas but may be required to assist.

Patient Interaction

The RN will interact with a diverse patient population, including:

• Pre, intra, and post-partum
• Neonatal
• Pediatric
• Adolescent
• Adult
• Geriatric

The nurse must effectively communicate with patients at various intellectual and physical ability levels.

Requirements

Certifications

• BLS Certification: Required
• ACLS Certification: Required

Health and Safety

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Must have a completed primary vaccination series or be up-to-date with vaccinations.
• MMR Vaccination: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine or proof of immunity.
• Hepatitis B Vaccination: Strongly preferred; documentation of three vaccines or proof of immunity.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30).
• TB Test: Documentation of a TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON TB test within three months of the start date.
• Fit Test: N95 fit test required within 365 days of the start date.

Background Checks

• Criminal Background Check: Required, including a Massachusetts CORI check.
• Education Verification: Must verify the highest level of education achieved.
• References: Two recent references, including at least one from a supervisor or above.

Additional Documentation

• Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
• Health Statement: Signed by a physician within 365 days of the start date.
• Skills Checklist: Required for submission.
