Qualifications

• Licenses:

  • Active registry with either Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS or RVS) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS, RVT, RDCS).
  • Must hold active registries in both cardiac and vascular ultrasound, or general and vascular ultrasound.
• Required Certifications:

  • CPR certification upon hire.
  • AHA BLS within 60 days of hire.
• Experience Required: Minimum one year of clinical experience in the respective department.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the direction of a physician and department supervisor.
• Carry out physician orders by following established protocols and care standards to ensure improved patient outcomes.
• Operate a variety of sophisticated ultrasonic imaging units and reading/reporting systems.
• Review images for identification, technique, and completeness according to governing bodies.
• Provide training to new department staff and sonography students.
• Participate in educational sessions and contribute technical knowledge to students and allied health professionals.
• Perform various ultrasonic examinations, including some invasive techniques as per policy.
• Maintain compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.

Additional Information

• Travelers may be required to float to other units based on organizational needs.
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts.
• The position may involve mentoring Ultrasound Students from a CAAHEP program.
