Job Description

• Role: Registered Radiology Technologist (RT) (AART) licensed in Connecticut.
• Floating: No floating to Milford Campus.

Required Certifications

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• BLS - Basic Life Support
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (required for NICU)
• CHEMO - Chemotherapy (preferred for Oncology)
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (required for ER)
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (required for L&D RNs)
• Tech Cert Verification - National
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing
• State License Verification - Connecticut license required for most roles, but not for MRI Techs at Bridgeport Hospital.
• NIH Stroke Certification - required for all RNs.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute (required for Psychiatrics/Behavioral Health).

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam - required for all RNs.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam - required for Telemetry and ICU units.

Health Documents

• Physical Exam - required within 12 months of start.
• Fit Test - required within 12 months of start, updated annually.
• Vaccinations:

  • Tdap vaccination required within 10 years for specific units.
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray required.
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (proof of completed series).

Background Checks

• 7 Year Criminal Background Check - required within 12 months of start.
• National Sex Offender Search - required within 30 days of start.

Additional Requirements

• Employment Application - must include a 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days.
• Education Verification - highest level of education required.
• Work History Verification - required for all start dates on/after 8/2/2024.

Training and Orientation

• Various training modules and attestations required, including but not limited to:

  • Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
  • Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
  • CLABSI Prevention Training
  • Language Services Training
