Job Opportunity: RN ICU

Overview

Shift Details

• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Schedule: Every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience
• Education:

  • Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Certification (annual)
• Licensure:

  • Current state or compact nursing license

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to read telemetry strips
• Experience with:

  • Airway management (Bipap, Airvo, Vent management)
  • Titration of vasoactive/cardiac/sedation drips
  • EKG interpretation
  • Care of arterial lines, central lines, and femoral lines
  • IV insertion and blood draws
  • Cardioversion/defibrillation
  • Procedural sedation
  • Ventilator management and trach care
• Familiarity with common equipment:

  • Ventilators, CRRT NxStage, Echo, Artic Sun, EV1000, PCA pumps

Patient Population

• Medical ICU focusing on heavy respiratory, renal, and cardiac patients.

Additional Information

• The unit is welcoming to new travelers, and senior nurses are available to precept.
• Clinical Resource Nurse available per shift for oversight and support.

Health and Safety Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Required, with options for medical or religious exemptions.
• Immunizations:

  • MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap
• TB Testing:

  • Two negative TB skin tests or Quantiferon Gold within specified timeframes.
• Physical/Health Statement: Required to confirm physical capability for job functions.

Background Checks and Documentation

• Comprehensive background checks, including criminal history and employment verification, are required prior to start.
• Completion of various internal assessments and forms is necessary.
