Job Description

Phoebe Putney Health System is seeking an MRI Tech for a 13-week contract. The position involves performing various imaging studies, including musculoskeletal imaging, basic neuro, abdominal/pelvic imaging, radiation oncology, and breast imaging. The tech will also work with pacer and anesthesia patients, as well as ICU and NICU patients.

Requirements

• Certifications:

  • ARRT (M)
  • BLS
• Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience (first-time travelers are welcome)
  • Experience with Siemens MRI machines is required; Philips experience is preferred
  • Level II trauma experience is a plus

Equipment and Technology

• Scanners: 4 scanners available; agency will staff 2
• PACS: McKesson or Changed Health Care
• EMR: Meditech
• Department Equipment: Siemens and a Philips scanner will be added

Work Environment

• Supervision: Full-time supervisor on each shift; a senior tech will be scheduled if a lead tech is not available
• Radiologists: In-house during the day; most MRI readings are done remotely
• IV Starts: Required

Scheduling

• Shifts: Generally 4-10s, starting between 8 AM and 12 PM
• Weekend Requirements: Only required if hired for a weekend shift; high volume of inpatients and outpatients on weekends
• Holiday Requirements: As per rotation
• Call/Standby: No mandatory call, but may volunteer if short-staffed

Orientation

• Duration: 1-2 weeks of unit/department-specific orientation

Dress Code

• Scrubs: Black scrubs with a black or gray jacket; no fleece allowed; black or gray undershirts permitted
