Job Opportunity: Travel CVOR Tech

Overview

• Location: Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, New Hampshire

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM + Call

Requirements

• Experience: 2 years in a hospital setting required
• Certifications: BLS/ACLS required
• Skills:

  • Must have:

    • Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Experience
    • Punctuality with a 30-minute call back time
    • Flexible schedule
  • Preferred:

    • Experience in Scrub Cardiac and Vascular cases
    • Familiarity with Meditech

Unit Information

• Unit: CVOR
• Number of Beds: 3
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, 2 Scrub Techs, 1 Aide
  • Night Shift: 3 member call team
• Patient Ratios: 3 staff members per OR
• Equipment: Open Heart
• EMR System: Meditech

Typical Procedures

• CABG, Valves, TAVR, EVAR, TEVAR, Carotid endarterectomy, Fistula creation/interventions, VATS, Thoracotomy, Fem-pop bypass, Angiograms with interventions, LVAD, RVAD, ECMO
• Level 2 trauma coverage for all vascular and thoracic procedures

Additional Information

• Call Requirements: One weekend a month and 2-3 days per week
• Support for Travelers:

  • 3 people on call every night (2 RNs and a scrub tech) to provide backup
  • Travelers will be the circulating nurse with additional support from another RN
• Team Environment: Small team with members who have been with the unit for nearly 20 years
