Unit Information

Unit Name: 12 Tower
Number of Beds: 36
Patient Ratios: 1:4 / 1:5
Unit Staffing: Secretary every day, PRN techs
Type of Equipment:
- PD Cyclers
- Welch Allyn VS Carts
- Hoyer Lift
- Broda Chairs
- Alaris IV Pumps
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling Requirements: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block
Floating Policy: Will float over core staff
Patient Experience Requirements:
- Bedside shift report
- Safety checks every 1-2 hours
- Focus on communication and responsiveness
COVID Vaccine Requirement: Must have

Patient Population

Overflow non-ICU COVID unit depending on community surges.
Patient care includes basic assessments and maintenance of:
- Wounds
- Tracheostomy
- Ostomy
- Drains
- Chest Tubes
- Strokes
- Seizures
May require dialysis or PCA pumps; only drip is Heparin.

Post-Operative Procedures

Amputations
Ostomy
Drains
Chest Tubes
Oral surgeries
Wound vacs

Dress Code

Scrubs: Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, Ceil Blue

Unit Guidelines/Policies

HAI prevention – CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
Fall prevention
100% Medication Scanning, including controlled substances
Attendance per policy

Team Environment

Great teamwork with a youthful group eager to enhance patient outcomes.
Supportive and experienced charges and leadership for smooth integration into the unit.
All candidates treated as core staff with accountability and recognition for their work.
