Unit Specifics
- Department: Emergency Department (ER)
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1, up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds.
- Staffing: Techs available for cardiac monitoring and triage; unit clerks on days and nights.
- Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors.
- Documentation System: Cerner.
- Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend; flexible scheduling based on department needs.
- Floating Policy: No floating outside of the ED, but must be open to floating within the ED.
Required Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (all required before starting).
- ENPC within 90 days of hire.
Hiring Profile
- Experience Required:
- 2 years as a nurse, with at least 1 year in an ER setting.
- Experience in a Level II trauma center and high-volume ED (>100,000 visits).
- Previous HCA experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Teamwork mentality and ability to provide real-time feedback.
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED.
Dress Code
- Required uniform: Navy scrubs.
