Job Description

As a Cytotechnologist, you will perform specialized and technically demanding cytology examinations to determine pathological conditions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting accurate technical cytological screening and interpretation for both Gynecological and Non-Gynecological cytology samples.
  • Referring appropriate cases for hierarchical review and alerting pathologists to abnormal cell structures.
  • Assisting with coordinating Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) Procedure schedules between Endoscopy and Radiology.
  • Attending FNA Procedures and performing Rapid On-Site Evaluations, providing adequacy assessments to the performing physician.
  • Processing and preparing FNA ROSE specimens for examination, ensuring proper record keeping and labeling.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, and records in accordance with accreditation guidelines and quality control standards.
  • Operating, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
  • Collecting data and preparing management reports of technological findings.

Submission Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience required.
  • Skills:
    • Experienced in attending Fine Needle Aspirations for Rapid On-Site procedure coverage and specimen adequacy evaluations.
    • Ability to perform both primary and quality control screening.
  • Certifications:
    • Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.
    • BLS (AHA) certification required.

Additional Information

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Travel: Preferred, with local traveler policy considerations for those within a 35-mile radius of the facility.
  • Dress Code: Matching scrubs or business casual attire.
