Job Description

As a CT Technologist at Ascension Alexian Brothers, you will be responsible for:

• Performing computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to established protocols.
• Preparing and positioning patients and selecting anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Administering contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable regulations.
• Observing patients during procedures and reporting any abnormal activity.
• Monitoring protocols and recommending updates or refinements as necessary.
• Following radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider: Must be obtained within 30 days of hire date. Accepted from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Radiologic Technologist Credential: Must be obtained from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) prior to hire date.
• One or more of the following:

  • Nuclear Medical Tech credential from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from ARRT.

Additional Credentials and Health Requirements

• Fit Test: Required annually.
• Vaccinations:

  • MMR
  • Hepatitis B
  • Influenza Vaccine (annual)
  • Varicella
  • Tdap (valid for 10 years)
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Driver's License/State ID: Required for all travelers.
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required prior to start.
• Criminal Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of first assignment and updated annually.

Professional Requirements

• Resume or Profile: Required.
• Professional References: At least two references required prior to first assignment.
• Education Verification: Needs to be validated at the source level.
• Drug Screen: 12 panel drug screen required within 30 days prior to start.

Additional Information

• Compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission - NPSG, and OSHA topics is mandatory.
• A headshot with a white or blue background is required for the Ascension badge.
• Documentation of all credentials and health requirements must be provided prior to onboarding.
