Job Summary

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Complexity of Work

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Required Credentials

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Certification (updated every 2 years)

• Licenses:

  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.

• Health Requirements:

  • MMR vaccination documentation or positive IGG titer.
  • Fit Test for masks (updated annually).
  • Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
  • Influenza vaccine documentation (seasonal).
  • Health Statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment.
  • Varicella vaccination documentation or history verification.
  • Tdap vaccination documentation.
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) testing.

• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check results.
  • Employment verification for the past seven years.

• Other Requirements:

  • Ascension Skills Checklist (updated annually).
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start).
  • Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days prior to start).
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (upon initial assignment and update upon each extension).

Additional Information

• Must complete onboarding requirements, including various training and competency assessments.
• Documentation must be provided for all required credentials and health history.
• Professional references are required prior to the first assignment.
