Unit Name: CCU (Cardiac Care Unit)
Number of Beds: 32
Patient Ratios: 2:1
Unit Staffing Description:
- Student nurse externs available as techs
- Unit secretary available M-F 0730-1530
Type of Equipment: Hill-Rom beds, Phillips telemetry monitors
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling Requirements: 4-week schedules (3-4 weekend shifts required per scheduling period)
Floating Policy: Float as needed to units depending on unit census

Required Skills and Certifications

Must Have:
- Cardiac experience
- Strong critical care experience
Advanced Skills Preferred:
- PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring
- IABP
- Impella
- CRRT
Procedures Performed on Unit:
- Central line insertion
- Swan insertion
- Intubations
Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS

Dress Code

Scrubs (galaxy blue, red, black); scrub jackets or vests only
