Position Details

Position/Specialty: RN First Assistant (RNFA)
Start Date: ASAP (Note: Privileging process takes 2-3 months)
Shift:
- 10 and/or 12-hour shifts depending on department needs
- Regular call required
- Typical shifts: 4x10s (0645-1715) or 3x12s (0645-1915)
Visits/Day: 27
Rooms: 8
Beds: 222
First-timers accepted: Yes
Weekend Requirement: Weekends covered by call shifts
Call Requirement: 1-2 times per week (1700-0630 on weekdays; 0630-0630 on weekends)
Float Requirement: May float to Shiloh, IL campus (rare occurrence)

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) - CSFA, SFA, etc. not accepted
Additional certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP)

Skills and Experience Required

Experience in Acute Inpatient OR/Outpatient OR, Endo/Laparoscopic, General Surgery Cases, Robotics, Trauma/Amputations, Urology
Surgical First Assistant Skills
Aseptic technique, Instrument Processing, Isolation Precautions, Laser Safety, Sterilization/Disinfection
