The laboratory of Dr Mignon Loh at the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders Research has an opening for a Research Scientist II. The lab focuses on understanding how and why leukemia progresses and developing new therapies for children, adolescents, and young adults with high-risk leukemia, including immunotherapies and targeted therapies.
We are looking for a curious and motivated individual to join our team. This individual will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the field and work with the PI and other labs members, as well as independently, on the planning, design, execution, troubleshooting, and interpretation of experiments. Key responsibilities include making detailed observations, recording data, presenting results, and assisting other members of the lab with day-to-day activities related to assigned projects. Our lab experiments include cell culture, flow cytometry and cell sorting, and in vitro and in vivo drug testing.  Our laboratory primarily uses mouse models for pre-clinical testing. 
 
Our team of scientists and physicians will provide training in performing state-of-the-art experiments in pediatric cancer research with the goal to move new therapies to patients in clinical trials. We have several ongoing collaborations with other teams at Seattle Children’s, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, and the University of Washington.
Ideal candidates will have experience with, or a strong interest in learning, in vivo techniques to work with mouse models of leukemia for preclinical trials.
  
*Required Education and Experience*
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline; may require a Master’s Degree for certain lab specialties.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related area/laboratory setting.

Master’s Degree in applicable field/research specialty highly preferred.
Significant experience conducting research in area of specialization.
Some experience with laboratory management.*Compensation Range*
$65,070.00 - $97,606.00 per year*Salary Information*
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
