1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Med/Surg- Completing daily patient assessments, passing medications, monitoring IV drips, monitoring telemetry, admitting/discharging patients, daily rounding with interdisciplinary team, and assisting with patient transfers when necessary.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
EHR that we utilize is Centriq. The medication dispensing system is Pyxis for both units.
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Two years of experience.
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
BLS, ACLS and PALS.
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
The employee will have a six week pattern that will include some weekends. Depending on the census for Med/Surg staffing may be adjusted, the employee may work alone while the second nurse is put on call
6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)

The Med/Surg unit is licensed for 25 beds
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) The nurse to patient ratio on Med/Surg will vary but is typically 1:3 or 1:4.
9. Dress Code:
Scrubs- no specific color.
