# L&D Beds: 6 can go into PP for additional 5 rooms
# OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections? 1
# Triage beds: 3
# Postpartum beds : 11 PP and 6 gyn/pedi/ms overflow
# Births per day? Month? Year? 65-70/month 775-800/year
Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios? yes
Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, NRP, Advanced EFM
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: High Risk Patient Population - high BMI, HTN, Hemorrhage, Preeclampsia, etc
Is this LDRP? No, LDRs
Do you require L&D to float to MB/PP? YES
Circulate & recover C-Sections? YES
Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: insulin
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Charge nurses and house supervisors. Ideally, CN don't take an assignment
Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? OB tech/UC role
OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7? OB/CNM 24/7 in house, Neo oncall 24/7
Anesthesia in house 24/7? On call 24/7
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): yes
Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? no monitor techs. RNs read strips along with CNM and OB physician. Philips monitors
EFM System: Cerner, Fetal-Link
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Monday - Friday 8:30-5 and 12:30pm-9pm
Weekend Requirements: one Sunday per month
Holiday Requirements: generally no
Is there a call or standby requirement? yes - leader oncall phone
Floating Requirements? no
Scrub Color/Dress code: business casual
Unit/Department specific orientation: L&D, Mother-baby/Peds and NICU
United Staffing Solutions Job ID #787115. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
