The University of Miami UHealth at SoLé Mia opening September 2025, will bring high-quality academic medicine to North Miami, Aventura, and surrounding communities.
Our expert team of physicians and staff will represent a wide range of specialties, including NCI–designated Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the number one eye hospital in the nation. UHealth at SoLé Mia will also deliver the latest in urologic treatments from the renowned Desai Sethi Urology Institute as well as top-notch care from UHealth’s nationally ranked neurology and neurosurgery programs.
The University of Miami UHealth – Department of Radiology- at SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a full time Nuclear Medicine Technologist 2.
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist 2 (U) performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in nuclear medicine, with an emphasis on radiopharmacology, administration of diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals, quality control, and radiation protection.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Verifies patients’ IDs by checking their name and date of birth.
Obtains necessary consent from patients.
Queries patients to describe the level of comfort and evidence of pain prior to, during, and after the completion of the exam.
Maintains and cleans all equipment in accordance with decontamination procedures.
Assists during emergency care by maintaining an adequate level of patient safety and sensitivity.
Assists the supervising physician throughout procedures with all the necessary supplies.
Verifies proper radiopharmaceutical by checking the outside label on unit dose container and the syringe.
Maintains accurate and complete patient records in both paper and electronic formats.
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations.
Refers to the standard dose table to verify dose and to determine proper radiopharmaceutical for procedures requested.
Follows organization-wide and unit-specific safety, security, and infection control standards.
Assays radiopharmaceutical in dose calibrator and records activity amount and time of assay on patient dose slip.
Selects optimum instrument and collimation to be used, determines, and adjusts settings on camera and computer control panels, and positions patient and camera to yield desired view. Assists patients on and off imaging table, chair, or stool using proper body mechanics and taking into consideration age-specific needs.
Attends appropriate orientation and training courses to maintain competency.
Utilizes aseptic technique for injected radiopharmaceuticals administered to patients.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in relevant field
Certification in relevant specialty or field
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
