Shift: Full time- (40 hrs.) Days, evenings, nights (depending on availability) (Occasional on-call and rotating weekends may be required)

Job Functions
Accountabilities (For Non-exempt Employees Include Percent of Effort):
10%
1. Verify the patient’s ID by checking their name and date of birth.
2. Ask patient to describe level of comfort and evidence of pain – prior, during, and at the completion of exam.
3. Always obtain necessary consents.
4. Always inform patient and/or patient’s family of procedure to be performed

5. Supervise as well as perform Nuclear Medicine procedures under the direction/supervision of a Radiologist using age appropriate standards of practice.
6. Notify appropriate person of any change(s) in patient status.
7. Maintain proper sterile techniques for procedures; regularly practice aseptic techniques and strictly obeys isolation and infection control procedures, prevent cross-contamination during procedures, i.e, gloves, gown, mask, eye protection and hand washing.
8. Assist the radiologist throughout the procedure with all the necessary supplies until completion.
9. Question patient concerning medications, medical history, previous imaging procedures, and if applicable, possible pregnancy or nursing.
10. Follow divisional policies on performing scans on pregnant women.
11. Refer to standard dose table to verify dose and to determine proper radiopharmaceutical for procedure requested.
12. Verify proper radiopharmaceutical by checking outside label on unit dose container and the syringe.
13. Assay radiopharmaceutical in dose calibrator. Record activity amount and time of assay on patient dose slip.
14. Utilize aseptic technique for those radiopharmaceuticals which he/she injects into the patient.
15. Select optimum instrument and collimation to be used, determine and adjust settings on camera and computer control panels, position patient and/or camera to yield desired view and obtain images in accordance with established procedure protocols.
16. Assist patient onto and off imaging table, chair or stool using proper body mechanics and taking into consideration age specific needs.
17. Regularly perform all imaging or non-imaging procedures according to established protocols, if unsure check protocol manual and/or verify with Supervisor.
18. Perform related duties as assigned.
Additional Duties
1. Daily work flow of the Nuclear Medicine department
2. Administrative(ACR, Physicist requests, etc) duties in Nuclear Medicine.
3. Review daily financials for Radiology
4. Make weekly schedule for Radiology
5. Cover Manager duties when she is out of the office
6. JC Rounding

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technology accredited program.
Certification and Licensing:
NMTCB or ARRT-N registered.
Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer or Basic X-Ray Machine Operator required.
CPR and BLS certification required.
Experience:
One (1) year of relevant experience required.
