Description
The UHealth System at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist Technician 2 at our Specialty Pharmacy in Medley. The Pharmacist Technician 2 prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. Assists the Pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, restocking of drugs, and assists with basic compounding.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.
Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.
Assists with compounding (didactic and/or basic hands-on).
Participates in assigned training program and continuing education activities to attain competency in different technician duty areas. Volunteers for extra assignments and/or cross training in other department roles and responsibilities of a pharmacy technician.
May volunteer to participate in a temporary taskforce/short-term committee. Acts as an informal resource for other technicians with less experience.
Provides support in the training of students and onboarding of new pharmacy technicians.
Serves as a mentor and role model.
Stays abreast of advanced knowledge and proficient practice in pharmacy dispensing, medication dispensing systems, controlled substance distribution to floors, pre-packing and any other pharmacy technician duties.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification and Licensing:
State of FL registration
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
