A Fluoroscopy Radiologic Technologist specializes in operating fluoroscopy equipment to assist physicians in diagnostic and interventional procedures. This role involves ensuring the safe and accurate capture of real-time images of internal structures while maintaining patient safety and adhering to radiation protection guidelines. The technologist collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality imaging services in a variety of clinical settings.

• Prepare and operate fluoroscopy equipment for diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring proper functionality and image quality.
• Position patients for imaging, ensuring optimal visualization of the area of interest while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
• Administer contrast agents as required, monitoring for any adverse reactions.
• Adhere to sterile techniques during interventional procedures.
• Monitor radiation exposure to patients and staff, adhering to established safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of radiation usage and procedural documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians to capture high-quality images for diagnosis or treatment.
• Provide clear communication to patients regarding procedures and answer any questions they may have.
• Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment, troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Current licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Fluoroscopy Permit or equivalent state-specific certification (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (mandatory).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred in some settings).
• Prior experience in fluoroscopy or interventional radiology (preferred but not required for new graduates).
