Job Title: Sonographer
Job Summary:
A Sonographer performs diagnostic medical imaging using ultrasound equipment to assess and monitor various conditions related to the abdomen, pelvis, heart, blood vessels, and other parts of the body. They collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to provide critical diagnostic information used to guide patient care and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform and interpret diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, cardiac, and vascular studies.
- Prepare and position patients for ultrasound procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety during the examination.
- Operate ultrasound equipment and ensure the proper functioning of imaging systems.
- Analyze ultrasound images and provide detailed reports of findings to assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting imaging results and clinical data.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and effective patient care.
- Educate patients and families about the purpose of ultrasound procedures, results, and what to expect during exams.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control practices, and quality assurance standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on ultrasound equipment and escalate issues as needed.
- Participate in continuing education and stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques.
- Provide support in developing care plans based on imaging results, working alongside multidisciplinary teams.
- Education: Associate’s degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
- Certification:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in sonography
