Description
Role Overview:
As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist at Soar, you will:
Design and execute naturalistic occupational therapy for young children aged 2-6 years in a center-based environment.
Develop targeted interventions to enhance clients' gross motor, fine motor skills, feeding abilities, and performance in other daily activities.
Conduct comprehensive multidisciplinary assessments and formulate treatment plans in collaboration with other clinical domains (ABA, speech therapy, psychology), including conducting co-treatments with the speech therapy team.
Provide coaching and mentorship to a team of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), guiding them in integrating OT goals into their therapy sessions and supporting their professional development.
Regularly monitor client progress, revising treatment plans and objectives as needed, and ensuring effective communication with team members and families.
Forge strong partnerships with families, setting collaborative goals, fostering meaningful relationships, communicating progress, and offering dedicated coaching and support throughout their journey.
Qualifications:
A degree in Occupational Therapy with a focus on pediatrics or a similar field
Current licensure as a Occupational Therapist
Experience in working with children with autism or related developmental disorders
Strong understanding of and commitment to early intervention and integrated care approaches
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a passion for supporting the growth and development of children with autism
